Gradual Gray Coverage FAQ

What is MENFIRST?

MENFIRST makes gradual gray coverage for men — no ammonia, no peroxide. Swap your regular shampoo for Gradual Gray and your gray blends in over 2–4 weeks, so the change looks natural and no one notices. Shampoo, conditioner, beard wash, balm and pomade for hair and beard.

How long does it take to see results?

Most men see a difference within 2–4 weeks of daily use. Leave it on for 5 minutes in the shower, then rinse. Once you like the shade, use it 2–3 times a week to keep it.

Will it look fake?

No hard line and no overnight change. Color builds a little with each wash, so you decide when to stop. Keep some gray for a salt-and-pepper look or keep going for more coverage. Best on medium brown to black hair; results vary on blonde or red hair, and there are light shade versions for lighter hair.

How is MENFIRST different from regular hair dye?

Box dye changes your color in one sitting: you mix it, time it and live with the regrowth line. MENFIRST works in your normal shower with no mixing and no ammonia or peroxide. The change is gradual, so it reads as you, not as a dye job. It does need regular use: once you like the shade, use it 2–3 times a week to keep it.

Is MENFIRST a good alternative to Just For Men?

If you want a one-time color change, a box dye does that. If you'd rather cover gray gradually in your normal shower routine, with no ammonia or peroxide, MENFIRST is made for that.

How do I cover gray hair gradually so no one notices?

Use Gradual Gray instead of your regular shampoo every day. Once you like the shade, switch to 2–3 times a week. Use the Gradual Gray Beard Wash at the same pace so your hair and beard match.

What's the best gray blending for men over 40?

One that lets you choose how much gray stays. Gradual Gray blends gray a little more with each wash, so you can stop at salt-and-pepper or keep going.

Does it contain ammonia, peroxide or metallic salts?

No. There's no ammonia, no peroxide and no metallic salts.

Can I use it on my beard?

Use the Gradual Gray Beard Wash and Darkening Beard Balm for your beard. The shampoo is made for the hair on your head.

Can I use it on colored or bleached hair?

Yes. Results can come a bit faster on processed hair. Don't use it at the same time as a permanent dye, but it works well to keep color even as a dye fades.

Will it stain my skin?

Rinse well as you would any shampoo, and wash your hands with soap after use. If your skin is very dry, apply it with the palm of your hand.
